Charon’s Ark: Illustrations

Charlie and Bigbird
As I wrote Charon’s Ark I made drawings and diagrams of the novel’s people and settings.  I hope to put them all on this site during the next few months.  Here is Charlie standing next to Sesame Rooster, a bigbird.  The bigbirds are intelligent dinosaurs who were bred over the past million years by the Crew of the Ark.  The human hijackees and the bigbirds discover each other in Volume 2, Charon’s Children.  You can see these illustrations in a larger size by clicking on them.

Chela, the Disney Version
This picture almost drew itself.  After I finished it, I thought, this is what Chela would look like if the Disney studio made Charon’s Ark as a cartoon.

A Surprise in the Desert

A fantasy I drew while sitting in a tedious meeting:  Wandering in some American desert, I come across a fossil deposit.  It’s all mine!  I used a refillable brush-pen and Conte chalk pencils.  I don’t seem to be able to get away from ‘coloring between the lines.’

Opossum Factoid

Possum species were one of the few to survive the holocost of the world at the end of the Cretaceaus Period… 4 out of 5 possum species did die out, however.
